What can Reiki do?

Reiki works on four levels.

it works on the physical body to alleviate pain and illness and also with the sympathetic and parasympathetic system to relieve stress and anxiety and bring about a sense of calm.

The physical healing helps with our emotional and mental healing by allowing us to achieve calmness and clarity and thus examine our emotions and our thoughts and attitudes from a different perspective and change them where necessary.

Sometimes, the physical pain or illness we experience is our body’s way of telling us there is something deeper going on, some mental, emotional or spiritual need that is not being met but we are not consciously aware of it.

A sore throat, for example, can be a symptom of feeling unheard or being afraid to speak up for yourself.

For me, it was a tightening of my chest, sometimes a restriction like a band around my ribcage and pectoral muscles that had me struggling to breathe. It hurt and my brain would automatically go “you’re having a heart attack, you better get somewhere safe NOW!”
